Miami Lakes offers over 50 different recreation programs for all ages and skill levels including a wide variety of after school activities.

For a complete list of the Town’s programs, visit www.miamilakes-fl.gov/parks and click on the Programs, Sports and Camps tab.

Registration for programs is done entire online at www.miamilakes-fl.gov/parkres. Although some of the programs have already started, there are still some spots open.

Miami Lakes is also offering afterschool care programs. In partnership with the YMCA and PEAR, the programs run Monday to Friday, 2 to 6 p.m., for children between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. Transportation is provided from Miami Lakes schools to the program locations by the program providers.

The YMCA program is offered at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue. Students receive daily homework help as well as an academic curriculum and project-based learning including science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and book buddies. The YMCA also offers a variety of enrichment programs through sports, health and wellness programs, games, arts and crafts, and recreational activities.

The Program in Education, Afterschool & Resiliency (PEAR) will be offered upon completion of the new Miami Lakes Park East Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive East.

PEAR’s innovative wellness-based curriculum educates and equips participants for wellness success and includes activities in the areas of Fitness Fun, Team Training, Sports of Sorts, Art Adventures, Performance Play, PEAR Core Values and Simplified Science.

PEAR Plus Academic Assistance will offer time for children in the program to work on their homework and get additional guidance in areas of academic necessity.
