Town seniors received income tax assistance at St. Thomas

On April 5, seniors from the Town of Miami Lakes enjoyed an opportunity to engage with IRS certified law student volunteers and have their income taxes prepared at no cost.

The opportunity was made possible thanks to a partnership between St. Thomas Law’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, St. Thomas Law’s Tax Clinic, and Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee.

In order to make the program accessible to town residents, the town offered free bus service from Miami Lakes’ Government Center to the Law School. For more information about the Tax Clinic or VITA Program at St. Thomas, contact Silvia M. Velazquez at 305-474-2452.
