Women’s History Month award winners to be honored at luncheon on Mar. 4

Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee announced the Women’s History Month award recipients who will be recognized at a luncheon on Saturday, March 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.

Miami Lakes resident and Miami-Dade County Public School Board member Perla Tabares Hantman will be the luncheon’s keynote speaker. 

The following women, who either live or work in Miami Lakes, were selected for award recognition following nominations from the community in various categories: 

• Arts – Clara Lyzniak, Main Street Players
• Business – Gloria M. Garcia, Esq., Gloria M. Garcia, P.A.
• Community and Civic Affairs – Marta Diaz, Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce
• Education – Hilda M. Fernandez, St. Thomas University
• Government – Gina Inguanzo, Town of Miami Lakes
• Health Services – Alexandra Alonso, Always At Your Side Adult Day Care
• Humanitarian – Lynn Matos, Youth Activities Task Force and Miami Lakes Relay for Life
• Volunteer – Nancy Rogers, Elderly Affairs Committee
