YMCA presents ‘Impact Award’ to town for commitment in impacting lives

The “Impact Award” was presented to the Town of Miami Lakes at the YMCA’s Youth Development Appreciation Breakfast in recognition of the Town’s ongoing commitment and dedicated support in impacting lives of youth.

The award was received by Community Engagement and Outreach staff members Katya Lysakk and Kristina Labossiere. 

Miami Lakes has partnered with the YMCA for the past 5 years to offers camps over the school breaks. The Y’s afterschool programs provide safe spaces for children to feel accomplished, build new friendships and develop a sense of belonging through sports and homework help.
Nationwide, the YMCA provides over nine million children with a wide range of programs built on academic intervention, health and enrichment that are proven to have positive impacts on kids’ lives at school, at home and in their communities annually.
