Miami Lakes Youth Center Council is inviting teens to take a field trip to the Deering Estate from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. The Deering Estate is the previous home of the Deering Family, the developers of the famous Vizcaya Estate.
Participants are advised to bring water shoes as they will explore Biscayne Bay’s aquatic life, wade knee deep to catch fish, shrimp and crabs, learn about the marine life in the sea grass communities, and take a Mangrove boardwalk hike.
Lunch and transportation will be provided. Space is limited and a $9 registration fee is required
