Four students from Spanish Lake Elementary (SLE) will have their artwork on display at the Miami International Airport for the art show, “From Rags to Riches-Fibers and Fabrics and Textiles, Oh My!” It will be on display through October 10. The students whose work will be on display are Maksim Almanza, Jocelyn Fonte, Samantha Gaina and Autumn Rosasza. SLE and art teacher Donna Harvey are very proud. The votes are in and Lawton Chiles Middle School (LCMS) won the Local 10 eARTh Day Art Contest. They announced the winner on April 22 which is Earth Day. LCMS received a surprise visit from Channel 10 and its news crew to announce the winner and award them with $4,500 to use toward art supplies.LCMS art students utilized their Cambridge Global Perspective theme of Migration to create a self-standing sculpture called “They Matter Too!”...
