On May 4, Mater Lakes Academy (MLA) had 22 seniors graduate from Miami Dade College (MDC). They graduated with their Associate of Arts Degree as a senior in high school. There was a total of 10 students inducted and all of them will be walking graduation with a yellow and green cord as they represent this accomplishment. Bob Graham Education Center congratulated Eva Oliveras who was a finalist in this year's Do the Write Thing Challenge and her teacher Jacqueline Arrojo-Hernandez. Oliveras, her parents and teacher attended the awards ceremony on May 22.
