Miami Lakes K-8 Center's team of coders, Samuel Borges and Daniel Simeon, competed on April 3 at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair's Digi-Con Coding with Scratch Challenge. Their hard work paid off as Simeon tied for second place among a field of 20 competitors from schools across Dade County. His highly creative animation showcased his talent and skill as a coder. Spanish Lake Elementary (SLE) attended the 2019 SECME and STEAM competitions held at Miami Dade College North Campus on January 26.
