On March 13, Miami Lakes K-8 Center (MLK8) hosted its first ever Painting with Parents night. The night welcomed almost 200 students, parents, siblings and teachers through two separate hour-long sessions. Pace High School (PACE) senior and Miami Lakes resident Vanessa Perez-Robles has been named one of the first 100 recipients of Amazon’s Future Engineer Scholarship Program. Perez-Robles, who will be attending Dartmouth College in the fall, will receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned.
