Every year Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School selects three eighth-grade students to be awarded the Independent Schools of South Florida (ISSF) Star Student Award. An ISSF Star student is an exemplary student. He/she is a student who sets an example for others to follow whether at home or school. On March 13, Miami Lakes K-8 Center (MLK8) hosted its first ever Painting with Parents night. The night welcomed almost 200 students, parents, siblings and teachers through two separate hour-long sessions.
