Bob Graham Education Center is extremely proud of David Coira. Coira earned the Naval Research gold medal from the United States Navy and Marines for his research on water filtration. His award also earned the Superior award at the South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Heather Gordon was commended for her leadership and guidance in helping Coira succeed at this event.
  The students at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School designed a poignant poster for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, and delivered it to the school where 17 students and teachers were gunned down by former student Nikolas Cruz last month.   Led by their Student Council, students at Miami Lakes K-8 Center honored the victims of gun violence at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School by wearing orange. Looking to make a difference and continue the conversation, the Student Council created awareness posters and scheduled an open forum for students to share their feelings, and offer ways to make a change.

At noon on February 21, Mater Lakes Academy gathered in the school courtyard to release balloons honoring the 17 victims of the Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Many students participated, and some even created signs in solidarity with the students and the family members of the fallen.
