Goleman Police Explorers honored for hurricane relief

Miami-Dade Schools Police Department Police Explorers from Barbara Goleman High School were recognized for volunteering to help people following Hurricane Irma, which destroyed some areas in Miami-Dade County. The Explorers helped pass out water and food to people affected by damages the storm caused, and removed downed trees and debris from business and residential properties in Miami Lakes and the surrounding areas.
The results are in for the industry certification exams taken by the students in the Academy of Education at Mater Lakes Academy. Students had to take seven subject area exams for the state certification from the Department of Children and Families and then the Child Development Associate exam for the national certification.For the state exam over 90 percent of the students passed their exams and were able to get certified. Bob Graham Education Center celebrated students for receiving a perfect score on the ELA FSA, FCAT Science, Math FSA or the Algebra I EOC during the Spring 2017 administration.
