Miami Lakes Middle School students won 1st Place in the drama competition held at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition. The students performed numbers from a variety of Broadway musicals and popular films.     Ethan Vergara and Azakin Sejour won Florida High School Athletic Association state wrestling championships in Kissimmee to lead a strong showing by the boys and girls teams from Mater Lakes Academy back in March.      Mater Lakes Academy’s Mock Trial team placed 5th in the High School Mock Trial Competition held March 31 – April 3 at the Justice Teaching Center at Florida Southern College in Lakeland.  They argued a civil lawsuit about whether environmental damage to a wildlife preserve was caused by farm fertilizer that may have ended up in a river shared by both parties. Bob Graham Education Center’s Robocats won 1st Place at the Middle School VEX IQ competition held at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition. The team placed first for their engineering interview, which shows their knowledge of their project, the school said.
