The Gus Machado College of Business at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens opened on Oct. 16. The ceremonies began with a Mass said by Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski of the Archdiocese of Miami. The complex’s benefactor is Gus Machado, owner of Gus Machado Ford. The $21 million project expanded the campus with two buildings. Construction began in January, 2019. Designed by Bermello Ajamil & Partners of Miami, the light-filled spaces include an academic building with 20 classrooms, an auditorium, a student innovation incubator, video telecast room and a sky bridge. A second building holds faculty offices and a boardroom. The school, at 16401 NW 37th Ave., offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in 11 fields. Course offerings include Cyber Security; Accounting; Finance, Marketing and Sports Administration.
