Students in Bob Graham Education Center’s Civic Engagement Academy presented a project in the spring on the effects of red tide at the Miami-Dade County Schools District showcase.
The project was titled “Stop Red Tide, Save Our Pride” and illustrated how harmful pollutants affect Florida’s waters.
After placing at the district level, the project moved on to the state competition on May 23, when the students placed second for the oral portion of the contest and took third place for their portfolio, the school said.
