Many area schools celebrated Dr. Seuss Day on March 2 by encouraging kids to read, and pre-kindergarten students at Miami Lakes K-8 Center donned their “Cat in the Hat” gear to get in the spirit of author Theodor Seuss Geisel’s creations.
The students at the school, at 14250 NW 67th Ave., are in teacher Pey-Guy Marra’s class. The day celebrates the author’s birthday and encourages students to read with activities centered around the books, with such titles as “Green Eggs and Ham” and “Horton Hears a Who!”
The students are shown above with Principal Yanelys Ferrer.
