Andre L. Teixeira, executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Graham Companies in Miami Lakes, was among four business leaders chosen by Florida International
University to serve as officers of FIU Foundation, Inc.
“I am honored to serve three more years as treasurer and to continue to work with such a dedicated and passionate group to help FIU reach recognition as a Top 50 Public University by 2025,” Teixeira said on Nov. 13.
Teixeira will serve a second, three-year term as treasurer of the foundation and continue as a member of the board of directors.
The foundation is a non-profit with approximately 40 members on the board of directors who “play a significant role in the development of the university as a major educational, cultural and economic resource,” FIU said on its website.
Also appointed to the board as Chair is Humberto “Burt” Cabanas, founder and chairman of Benchmark; Vice Chair Adalio T. Sanchez, who is president of S Group Advisory LLC; and
Secretary Jill M. Granat, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer for Restaurant Brands International.
They are all FIU alumni, as is Teixeira, who earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from FIU.
Prior to joining The Graham Companies, Teixeira held executive positions at Mars, Inc., PepsiCo and Ernst & Young.
“We are grateful and excited to have these exceptional individuals lead our foundation board of directors,” Howard R. Lipman, chief executive officer of the FIU Foundation, Inc. said in a media release.
