Barbara Goleman Senior High School salutes its Class of 2021 summa cum laude graduates, who have earned the most scholarships, with the highest dollar amounts, in the history of the school, officials said. Goleman’s first senior class graduated in 1998. The June 7th commencement will be its 24th graduation and is to be held at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo. The school campus is at 14100 NW 89th Ave. in Miami Lakes. Every student who achieved the summa cum laude honor received a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, as well as scholarships from almost all of the schools that admitted them, BGSHS said. Notable awards include the QuestBridge National College Match; The Gates Scholarship; The Posse Foundation Scholarship; The Graham Companies Scholarship; Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship; Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Award Winner; Orgullo De Nuestra Juventud (Pride of Our Youth Award, sponsored by Univision, Papa John’s, Publix Super Markets and Miami Dade College) and the Beam Suntory Scholarship.
