Hialeah Gardens observes 'Smoke-Out'

Education Wednesday, December 4, 2013

Miami-Dade County School Board chair Perla Tabares Hantman joined students from Hialeah Gardens Senior High School as they took a pledge to remain tobacco free during the American Cancer Society’s “Great American Smokeout.” Recent date from the Surgeon General shows that one out of four high school students is a tobacco smoker. Alarmingly, every day nearly 4,000 children between the ages of 12 and 17 naively will try their first cigarette.
