The “Stemtacular Trojan Family Night” was held on April 17 in the Hialeah Miami Lakes (HML) gymnasium. This is the third year that the HML community has celebrated academics with a fun, interactive family night and this year’s event was the largest yet. The Mathematics, Science, ELA, Social Studies, Technology, Robotics, Student Services and Fine Arts departments collaborated for a Harry Potter themed night.
The event was free to all students, families and the community with over 200 people attending. The event consisted of 15 interactive stations hosted by HML teachers and provided participants with hands-on learning and innovative fun throughout the night.
Stations included a Robotics Maze, Scavenger Hunt, Life Size Jenga Challenge, DNA and Anatomy Activities and a Chemistry demonstration that taught students the process of making ice cream using dry ice along with other ingredients.
