Lawton Chiles 8th grader wins contest

Lawton Chiles Middle School student Vida Marrero placed 1st in the 2022 Homeless Trust’s Sensitivity Poster and Essay Contest. Vida, who is in the eighth grade, is shown above at left with her art teacher, Lilian Gonzalez. 

Vida’s work along with that of three other winners will be permanently displayed at area homeless shelters. Vida and the other young artists were scheduled to be recognized at an April 29 board meeting for the Homeless Trust, according to a media release.
