Miami Lakes Branch Library has the following programs available for the public during October:
For Children:
Family Game Day! – Come to the library and enjoy time with your family playing board games. For all ages. Meets at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 5.
Reading Ready Toddler Storytime – Stories, songs and activities for toddlers and their caregivers. For ages 18 months to 3 years old. Registration required. Meets at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3.
Paws 2 Read – Certified therapy dogs listen as children read aloud and practice their reading skills. For all ages at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 12.
For Teens:
Teen Club: Games and More – Teens, ages 12-19, meet to play video games, watch anime, draw, or discuss books, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 16.
Teen Read Week: OutLoud! Teens, ages 12-19, share a favorite poem, song, short story or excerpt from a book, and receive community service hours and a Teen Read Week T-shirt designed by a fellow teen. Contact the branch library to preregister at 305-822-6520. Program is at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12.
For Adults:
Hispanic Book Club – A book discussion club for readers of Spanish literature, discussions are held in Spanish, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9.
Book Discussion Group – Monthly meetings to discuss books of interest. Contact the branch to find out the title of the book. Meets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15.
Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Community Outreach – A member of Congressman Diaz-Balart’s staff will visit the library to discuss federal issues or any problem a constituent may have with a federal agency.
Outreach is available from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23. Miami Lakes Branch Library is located at 6699 Windmill Gate Road.
