About 400 Miami-Dade County Public School students will gather on Tuesday, May 16, for the 7th annual prom for students with Autism Spectrum disorders. The prom is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport & Convention Center, 711 NW 72 Ave in Miami.
This milestone event will offer the complete prom experience with formal attire in tuxedos and gowns, taking a prom picture, dancing and the crowing of a king and queen.
This important rite of passage will allow students with ASD to bond with their peers and is free for all participating students thanks to the generosity of community agencies, educational partners, and local/national businesses that have provided funding.
