Over 100 high school seniors from schools throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties returned to their childhood school for the Miami Lakes K-8 Center Class of 2014 Homecoming Reunion.

This group of students was the second to complete their K-8 years at Miami Lakes in 2010. Four years later, they returned as young men and women eager to recapture the memories from their early years, where they met as four- and five-year olds, and spent the major part of their school years.

They returned with a great sense of appreciation and nostalgia as they walked the hallways of their school home for so many years. They shared their stories and let school administrators know how special Miami Lakes K-8 Center had been in their lives.

They laughed and cried as they enjoyed a slide show of pictures taken from the time they were little through eighth grade. They remembered all of the times they had together as they listened to their song “Friends Forever.”

This special group of MLK-8 graduates was welcomed by their former teachers and administrators, some who drove and flew in from out of town for the special day. Every student received a beautiful shirt depicting the student graduates jumping into their future. The event was planned by the PTSA parent committee that organized the 8th grade activities when this group left the K-8 Center.
