Dragon’s Egg Craft - Teen Library Advisory Board  Wed., May 15  4 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Create your own dragon egg.  Ages 13 - 19

Talk Crafty to Me!  Thurs., May 16  11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Make cool crafts and meet other creatives. Materials provided.  Ages 19+

Tai Chi for Beginners  Fri., May 17   11 a.m. – Noon. Practice this ancient tradition and learn gentle movements to increase flexibility and balance. Led by library staff. Ages 18+

Create a Tactile Art Piece for Spring - Celebrate Older Americans Month  Sat., May 18  4 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Make a spring-themed art design using mixed media techniques during this hands-on tactile art class led by a teacher for people with low vision. Materials provided. Ages 55+

Celebrate Dinosaur Day   Tues., May 21  4 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Calling all Dinosaur enthusiasts! Make crafts and talk about your favorite prehistoric reptiles.  Ages 6 - 11 yrs.

Chess Club for Adults  Tues., May 21, June 4  6 p.m. - 7 p.m.  Hone your skills or have fun while playing chess. Ages 18+

Henna 101 - Celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Month   Wed., May 22  4 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Learn the history of the henna art form and practice designs using freshly made henna and henna cones. Made possible by the Town of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board.  Ages 8 - 18 yrs.

All About That Pace Cardio Workout   Fri., May 24 11 a.m. – Noon Join a low-impact cardio workout, walk in place and move at your own pace.  Ages 19+

“The Tiger and the Brahmin”  Sat., May 25 2 p.m. – 3 pm.  Enjoy a performance of this popular fable from India, featuring authentic Indian classical dance and colorful costumes. Presented by Momentum Dance Company. All ages.

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers en dos idiomas  Tues., May 28, June 4  11 a.m. – Noon  Library staff present stories, songs and activities in English and Spanish for toddlers and caregivers.  Ages 18 mos. - 3.

Prickle Rick the Hedgehog   Wed., May 29 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Meet Prickle Rick, a pygmy albino African hedgehog and enjoy stories. Ages 8 – 18.

Piggy Bank Painting for Seniors - Celebrate Older Americans Month by painting your own piggy bank. Teach your young ones how to save for a rainy day. Ages 55+

STEAMFest Adventure Begins at your Library  Sat., June 1 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Get hands on with science, technology, design and art activities. Discover what you can create with easy-to-use tools. Enjoy a wildlife show. Made possible by the Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board. Ages 6+

Art History for Kids   Sat., June 8, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.  Hear a brief history of a well-known artist and create a craft in their style. Materials provided while supplies last.  Ages 8 – 12.
