 The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering classes.  Most events require preregistration.

Talk Crafty to Me!  Thurs., Nov. 16, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Make cool crafts and meet other creatives. Materials provided. Ages 19+.

Toddler Sign and Sing Workshop Tues., Nov. 21, 11 a.m. – Noon, Learn basic American Sign Language through children’s music and find out how to incorporate ASL into your everyday life.

It’s recommended that children are accompanied by their caregivers. Ages 1 – 4.

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers en dos idiomas, Tues., Nov. 28, 11 a.m. – Noon. Join library staff for stories, songs and activities in English and Spanish for toddlers and 

their caregivers. Ages 18 mos.- 3.

Chess Club Tues., Nov. 28, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.  Play with other fans of the game. Ages 8 – 18.

Teen Library Advisory Board Wed., Nov. 29, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.  Earn community hours and make your library a better place for teens. Meet new friends, help choose books, plan and lead programs and learn new skills. Ages 16 – 19.

Dominoes and Cafecito Thurs., Nov. 30, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. Enjoy a game of dominoes and a shot of Cuban coffee. Ages 55+.

Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) Fri., Dec. 1, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Florida Licensing on Wheels allows drivers to renew a license; obtain a replacement; change a name or address; get an ID card; renew a vehicle registration or purchase a specialty license plate. Ages 18+.

Homework Help & Tutoring Sat., Dec. 2, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Certified teachers meet students in grades K-12 for one-hour sessions to help with homework and tutoring in reading, math and science. STEM Saturdays Sat., Dec. 2, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Do a hands-on STEM activity with FIU undergrad and medical students. Materials provided. Made possible by the Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP.
