The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering classes.  

     Most events require preregistration and popular courses may fill up early. Sign up in advance to avoid being shut out of classes.  To check availability, call 305-822-6520, email

     The library at 6699 Windmill Gate Rd. is open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., and closed Sunday. 

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

Toddlers and caregivers will hear stories, sing songs and enjoy activities.

Teen Library Advisory Committee – Black Canvas Painting

3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Earn volunteer hours and help to improve the library and events for teens. Make new friends while choosing books, planning and leading programs and learning new skills.

Take the Miami-Dade Public Library System Summer Reading Challenge

Get a Summer Reading & Activity Log from the library or online at 

Mdpls.org/2025Summer Reading.

Earn a weekly reward for every three books or three hours spent reading or participating in library learning activities. Track progress by coloring icons in the log and claim a weekly reward at any library.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Challenge, but only library card holders up to 18 years old are eligible to win prizes and weekly rewards. Complete all seven challenges to win a voucher for two tickets to a Miami Marlins game provided by UHealth.
