The Superintendent's Honors Orchestra is a part of the Miami-Dade County Honors Music Festival that students from Miami-Dade County Public Schools audition to be a part of at either the elementary or secondary level in orchestra, band, and choir.

Miami Lakes K-8 Center students Ariana Rejas and Francis Dalipe, both eighth graders, auditioned for the first time and were selected to perform as part of an elite group of string players. Rejas has been playing violin since the beginning of seventh grade and Francis is in his first year of orchestra playing cello.  Rejas is also an accomplished pianist for her age and plays guitar. Francis also plays guitar and ukulele.

The concert took place Saturday April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center at FIU’s Modesto Maidique Campus, 10910 SW 17 Street, Miami, FL 33199.
