Nicholas Daniel Añón, 22, of Miami Lakes graduated in May from Florida State University.
He is the son of David Añón and Anabel Añón, and has a sister, Natalie Añón, 27.
Añón earned a bachelor’s degree in both finance and accounting from FSU’s College of Business, graduating Magna cum laude. He was on the dean’s list during his undergraduate career, his father said.
While at college, Añón was the budget chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Philanthropy Committee for the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Añón grew up in town. He is a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, played in the Miami Lakes Athletic Club’s basketball league where he also worked one summer and was an honors student at Bob Graham Education Center and president of the Student Council.
He graduated from Archbishop McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches. Añón was a Bright Futures, Florida Academic Scholar and won a Dr. Caraballo Scholarship from the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) in 2022.
Añón interned for Holland & Knight LLP in Miami and Friedman & Abrahamsen Law in Tallahassee, his father said.
This fall, he will attend The University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville on a merit scholarship.
