Education By Rene D. Basulto, Special to The Miami Laker Wednesday, April 13, 2016

In a year highlighted by awards and accolades for its students and teacher, Pace High School’s Drama Club and Academy for Visual & Performing Arts Theatre Program theatre looks to end on a high note with its 2016 spring musical production of Chicago with a string of performances for middle school students and the open public on April 20, 21, and 22.

Over 500 middle school students from Our Lady of the Lakes, Immaculate Conception, and other schools will be given special midday performances of Chicago at Pace on April 20 and 21. The theatre program has presented these special productions for the past few years, with this year’s performances set to be their most attended yet.

Performances for the general public will be held at 7 p.m. on April 20 through 22 at the Spartan Center on the Pace campus. Several of the play’s performers will be fresh off winning awards at the 2016 Florida State Thespian Festival, and it will be the final set of performances for the program’s seniors. Pre-sale tickets are priced at $12 and can be bought by emailing cplaguzman@pacehs.com. Tickets at the door are priced at $15.
