 The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is closed for renovation. Patrons may visit the branch in Palm Springs North at 17601 NW 78th Ave. for classes. Many classes require registration, call for information at 305-820-8564 or padronc@mdpls.org. 

     The branch is open 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday; 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday -Saturday and closed Sunday. 

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Babies  Fri., May 15, 22, 29; June 5, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Babies and caregivers can enjoy soothing stories, songs and finger plays. Ages 0-18 mos.

Homework Help and Tutoring Sat., May 16, 23, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Certified teachers meet with small groups of students in one-hour sessions to provide homework help and tutoring in reading, math, and science. Students are encouraged to bring homework mate-rial or school assignments for assistance in specific subject areas. LEGO® Club Sat., May 23, 30, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Participate in a LEGO® STEM challenge. Blocks are supplied. Ages 3-12 

Teen Library Advisory Committee Wed., May 27, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Earn volunteer hours while making the library a better place for teens. Make friends, help choose books, lead programs and learn new skills. Ages 13-19

America 250 Jam Mon., June 1, 11 am. – 12 p.m. Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a high energy jam session led by Mr. J. Sing, dance and play along to patriotic favorites and Mr. J.’s original songs that celebrate community and kindness. All ages.

READy, Set, Go: Storytelling  Wed., June 3, 11a.m. – 12 p.m. Brought to you by The Children’s Trust/The Children’s Trust Parent Club. Stories, songs and ac-tivities to promote literacy, expand vocabulary, encourage participation and strengthen comprehension. In collaboration with FIU’s Center for Children & Families. Ages 0 - 5.
