On September 23, Miami-Dade School Board Chair Perla Tabares Hantman was honored at the Second Annual Hispanic Leadership Awards Luncheon hosted by the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach County (HEC) in partnership with the Jose Marti Foundation at the Harriet Himmel Theater in West Palm Beach.
Hantman, a Miami Lakes resident, was recognized for her contributions and dedicated service toward promoting educational equity for Hispanic/Latino students.
“I am honored to have been chosen,” she said. “I would like to thank the leadership of the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach County for this wonderful recognition given to me for having been a consistent advocate for public education in Miami-Dade County and in Florida.”
