During a Miami-Dade County Public School Board meeting in October, Mater Academy were recognized as a Gold STEAM designated school. Mater Academy was honored for meeting the designations in carrying out the primary goal of promoting STEAM and STEM education, encouraging on-going growth and performance, and integration among its disciplines. The school designation criteria includes, STEM competitions, professional development, partnerships, equality and accountability. In addition, the STEAM designated school helps strengthen science, mathematics, visual and performing arts, accelerated and career and technical programs.
