Three students from area high schools are 2021 Miami Herald Silver Knight award winners. Jordan Bryan of Hialeah Gardens High School worked with girls in Hialeah to boost and measure their confidence through sports; Cyrah Gayle tutored and mentored children at Lotus House women’s shelter and Fadhina Petit-Clair taught violin to children on the autism spectrum. Cyrah and Fadhina attended the School for Advanced Studies. The students are among the 30 seniors at schools in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties honored in the 63rd annual contest that recognizes outstanding achievers.
The winners receive a $2,000 scholarship from the Knight Foundation; a Silver Knight statue; an AAdvantage 25,000-mile travel coupon and a Silver Knight medallion presented by American Airlines.
