Summer reading lists posted for Miami Lakes area schools

Miami Lakes area schools will resume classes on August 21, 2017 but students are expected to come into school having completed summer reading assignments and the clock is ticking. With less than three weeks until classes begin, below are some local school reading lists to kick into high gear. 

Hialeah Gardens Elementary School lists its i-Ready summer reading program though online lessons that were made available until August 4 as well as suggested reading titles according to grade level. The handout can be accessed on www.hialeahgardens.org/ under the News and Announcements section.  

Miami Lakes Middle School requests that students pick two novels from their suggested reading list and complete one activity for each. The list of titles and assignments can be found at http://mlms.dadeschools.net/resources/summer/summerreading1516.pdf

Hialeah Gardens Middle School reading lists and summer projects divided by grade level can be accessed online at www.hialeahgardensmiddle.com/summer-reading-books

Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School has a summer reading list based on grade level with honors and iPrep students given a different list. Barbara Goleman Senior High’s summer reading list according to grade level and class subject can be found at http://bghs.dadeschools.net/ under the Academics tab, on the 2017 Summer Reading Brochure.  

American Senior High School’s summer reading lists are listed as separate PDF files per grade level online at www.americanshs.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=651257&type=u. Summer reading projects are due September 15, 2017.
