Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board and The Graham Companies presented the two winners of the Miami Lakes Future Leaders Scholarships at the May 5 Town Council meeting.
Both students are highly accomplished and demonstrated excellence in both academics and community service, and were chosen as the winners by the Education Advisory Board. The $1,000 scholarships are provided by The Graham Companies.
Kaitlin Castillo, a graduating senior from Barbara Goleman Senior High, will attend the University of Miami. She serves as the Editor-in-Chief of her school’s yearbook and is the founding president of the BETA Club.
Sharon Zajac, a graduating senior from Miami Lakes Educational Center, will attend Florida International University. She created the His House Field Day event, and serves as the president of the American Sign Language Club.
