Clarification on Town receiving FEMA grant

The award of a FEMA Flood Migitation Grant to the Town of Miami Lakes which was reported in the August 3 issue of The Miami Laker requires some clarifcation. In fact, the $1.462 million grant covers 100 percent of the amount requested by the Town  representating the Federal portion for the West Lakes project.

  Flood mitigation is a priority of the Town of Miami Lakes and is included in the Town’s Stormwater Master Plan and Strategic Plan.
