  Miami Lakes resident Brian Rodriguez was sworn in for his second term as a Miami-Dade County Youth Commissioner. Rodriguez, who was reappointed by Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. as one of his two Youth Commissioners to represent District 13 including Miami Lakes, PSN and Hialeah. Rodriguez is a senior at Pace High School and a member of the Miami Lakes Youth Activities Task Force. He is the son of Councilmember Nelson Rodriguez.

Town honors library bookmark contest winner

  Miami Lakes K-8 Center student Sofia Palomino left her mark on literature, as she won the Miami-Dade Public Library’s bookmark design contest for the 9-12 year-old category, and her bookmark will be distributed at all the county-wide libraries.
