  The Town of Miami Lakes has implemented a new online Community Events Calendar. Residents and visitors can access information on local events, carnivals and festivals. Local businesses and organizations will have the opportunity to submit their events to the town to be posted on the Community Calendar. In recognition of World Autism Awareness Day, the Town of Miami Lakes staff wore blue on April 2 to participate in Light It Up Blue, a unique global initiative that kicks-off Autism Awareness Month. Mayor Wayne Slaton and the Town Council voted unanimously to proclaim April as Autism Awareness Month in the town during the April 8 Council meeting.
