Christmas season begins at Miami Lakes Town Hall

Our Lady of the Lakes Church helped launch the Christmas season at Miami Lakes Town Hall on Dec. 1.
During the annual tradition when a creche is set up outside of the municipal building, the glee club from Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School performed to recorded music.
The carols and popular songs included the “Prayer of Saint Francis;” “Go Tell it on the Mountain;” “Silent Night;” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and “Feliz Navidad.”
Teacher Dominick Cama led the students’ performance. Pastor Ivan M. Rodriguez blessed the creche with holy water.
Town staff attended the event, joined by Mayor Manny Cid, Vice Mayor Tony Fernandez and council members Ray Garcia and Luis Collazo.
