Elderly Affairs Committee hosts Latino Alzheimer's forum April 25

Community Wednesday, April 17, 2019

It’s a fact. There are over 30,000 Latinos suffering from Alzheimer’s in South Florida and this number will six-fold in the next 30 years.
The Latino Center on Aging (LCA), in partnership with the Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee, will host an Alzheimer’s Conference in Spanish from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue, to educate and inform the Spanish speaking Miami Lakes residents of all the latest information on the disease.
The LCA’s unique mission is to improve the lives of Latino seniors through advocacy and education. The challenge is to increase knowledge on the hardships faced by the elderly and to assist in the creation of new programs and services directed towards them.
