Town Manager Edward Pidermann was expected to announce on April 27 that the town’s parks will partially reopen before the weekend.
Basketball courts, tot lots and playgrounds would likely remain closed so that residents could continue to practice social distancing to protect themselves from the deadly COVID-19 virus.
Fields could be used for casual play but not by teams or large groups, Pidermann said.
Town Hall may reopen on May 4, with just some staff on duty to avoid close contact and infection from the disease.
Municipal meetings will continue to be held over the internet.
A second schedule for reopening small businesses and restaurants may be known by mid-May.
An electric sign in the middle of Northwest 154 Street, with the message “Stay Home, Stay Safe,” will probably stay in place, Pidermann said.
During a Facebook video on April 26, Pidermann said there were 43 cases of coronavirus in town.
He appeared with Mayor Manny Cid and Harry Wayne Casey, who lives in town and leads KC and The Sunshine Band.
“Keep positive, have faith, have hope and we’ll get through this,” Casey said.
