Miami Lakes Middle School competes in Model United Nations

On March 2, Miami Lakes Middle School's (MLMS) Legal Studies 1 and 3 students participated in a Model United Nations (MUN) Competition at Miami Dade College.
The competition was sponsored by Miami-Dade County Public Schools Social Studies department. Eleven schools participated. MLMS won the Secretary General's Award which is called, “Outstanding Middle School.”
Students placed in several categories. Honorable mention honors went to Yaneidy Ruiz, Kailey Pineda, Adrien White and Gabriel Hubert. Best position paper went to Marco Rios, Erik Rodriguez, Rebecca Guerra and Melanie Mahmoodi. Best delegate went to Melanie Ulloa and Mayte Mendez.
MLMS administration thanked the student sponsors Lisa Deyarza and Lenard Gutierrez with congratulations to all who participated in this competition.
