Miami Lakes Vice Mayor Frank Mingo has been busy at work asking District 103 constituents to sign a petition which would qualify him to run for State Representative in 2018, to represent the town and city of Hialeah.

Mingo is seeking to replace term-limited State Representative Manny Diaz Jr., who is running for the Senate.

Mingo, the first to qualify for a 2018 legislative race via petition, wanted to show his local support from all over the House District and in less than two months picked up 1,338 verified petitions when only 898 were required.

“The support from the House District 103 has been overwhelming,” said Mingo. “I plan on continuing to work to win the support of the entire House District.”

Mingo said he is banking on the support from his fellow Town council members to help him win an office at the State Capitol.

“My plan is to continue to work with my colleagues to help Miami Lakes and all of House District 103, if I have the privilege of being elected by the people,” said Mingo.
