Community Friday, September 6, 2013

The Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce is hosting a mayoral debate for the five candidates seeking to replace Michael Pizzi during the organization’s regular luncheon meeting on Wednesday, September 4.

Pizzi was suspended from political office following his arrest on public corruption charges which prompted the October 1 special election.

Candidates include Councilmember Nelson Hernandez, who resigned his post to run for mayor, founding Miami Lakes Mayor Wayne Slaton, local activist Dr. David Bennett, real estate broker Edwin Romero and educator Luis Espinosa will have an opportunity to present their political platforms during the luncheon at Shula’s Hotel.
