Miami Lakes elected officials visited the $2.8 million Commerce Way drainage project in Business Park West on Dec. 8. The ceremonial groundbreaking was held a month after work began on Nov. 1.
When the pipe installation is completed in Aug. 2024, it will help with flooded roads in Business Park West and is part of a town wide initiative to prevent flooding on the west side of town. It is funded by stormwater utility system revenue bonds.
During construction, residents and office workers may experience traffic detours.
