Town of Miami Lakes has launched the “I Heart Miami Lakes” campaign, an initiative by Councilmember Tony Lama, intended to encourage residents to take pride in their community.

Encouraging pride is essential for achieving the quality of life desired by residents. Whether it is supporting local businesses, volunteering, or lending a neighbor a helping hand, civic pride results in community improvement.

“It gives me great pride to unveil the “I Heart Miami Lakes” campaign. Like other cities around the nation, we have so much to be proud of, but Miami Lakes is extra special,” said Lama.  “It’s a gem, and it’s our gem. In cooperation with the Town’s committees and our great staff, the launch of this campaign strikes at the heart and essence of what is Miami Lakes and encourages the community to take pride in their town and take personal responsibility in keeping Miami Lakes beautiful.”

To kick off the campaign, the Town is asking residents to submit or post in social media photos that depict their favorite place or thing to do in Miami Lakes. Photos can be submitted by:

• Tagging the Town on social media –

a. Facebook: Town of Miami Lakes

b. Twitter: @MiamiLakesnews

c. Instagram: Town_of_Miami_Lakes

• Send photos via email to stewartc@miamilakes-fl.gov.

Be sure to use the official hashtag #iheartmiamilakes and explain why you “heart” Miami Lakes. Photos will be shared on the Town’s social media pages and website at www.miamilakes-fl.gov/iheartml.
