Town marks Lake Quality Month August 18 event

For the fourth year in a row, Miami Lakes will celebrate August at Lake Quality Month to raise awareness about the quality of the Town’s lakes and to recognize the important role the lakes play in the Town’s public image and recreational life.

Residents and HOA representatives can learn move about the important of storm water and its effect on lake quality during a presentation by Miami Lakes’ Public Works director Elia Nunez at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, hosted by the Neighborhood Improvement Committee.

Also, in conjunction with the “IHeartMiamiLakes” campaign, residents are invited to post their favorite photos of any of the Town’s 23 lakes using the official hashtag #iheartmiamilakes.
