The South Florida Building Officials Association (SFBOA) has named Miami Lakes’ Eliezer Palacio the Building Official of the Year for 2016, an honor bestowed upon the individual who has demonstrated “great work” in a town where he works.
The SFBOA is the South Florida Chapter of the Building Officials Association of Florida (BOAF).
Palacio has been the Town of Miami Lakes’ Building Official for more than a decade, overseeing a staff of 12 people who conduct inspections and issue permits for building projects throughout the 6.5 square-mile town.
His staff includes a chief building inspector, permit supervisor, facility and property coordinator and two permit clerks.
Councilmember Ceasar Mestre said, “We at Miami Lakes are happy to have him as one of our team members. Good job.”
