  Mater Academy’s cheerleading team finished in third place at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state competition at the University of Florida in Gainesville. It was the Lionettes best finish since 2009. Mater Academy won the district championship and performed well in the regionals to advance to the state championships. St. Andrews Lutheran Church will have a yard sale on Saturday, March 3 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will take place at 575 W. 68 Street across from Twin Lakes Elementary School in Hialeah.  Funds raised will provide continuing support for the church’s food bank and other ministry activities.
